Stay Focused! The Herbs That Will Help You Focus on the Task - and Persevere!

Withania somnifera - is a key plant in traditional Indian medicine. Thanks to its qualities and effect on humans in terms of energy and vitality, it is called the “Indian ginseng.” In light of the diverse potential inherent in withania somnifera, scientific research has shown great interest in the plant in recent years, and it has been studied in cognitive (including aspects of speed of thought, learning and memory), emotional, immune, and more contexts.

Ginkgo Biloba - The ginkgo tree originates in China and Japan and is known worldwide as the “tree of life”, due to its long lifespan, which can reach 1000 years! The name biloba means “two lobes” – since the shape of its leaves resembles the human brain. For this reason, ginkgo leaves have been used in traditional medicine for many years in various contexts of brain health. Science is also showing great interest in ginkgo and its potential effect on humans, and over the past thirty years, more than 400 scientific studies have been conducted that examined its properties and effects, including in the field of cognitive functions in the context of distractions, reaction speed, attention to detail, and more.

Bacopa - This is a plant from traditional Indian medicine that also grows wild in Israel. Indian healers have been using Bacopa for thousands of years to increase focus, to "ground the mind" and to provide a feeling of "gathering and centering" in situations of mental dispersion and confusion, daydreaming and distraction. Bacopa is also known as the "memory plant". In recent years, many clinical studies have been conducted on the plant, in which hundreds of participants of various ages took part. Following scientific research, the active components in the plant (saponins) and the mechanism of their presumed effect on specific structures related to memory and learning functions were discovered.

Rosemary - The Greeks and Romans in ancient times highly valued rosemary, which has always been a symbol of learning and knowledge, and it was customary to wear it on the head as a virtue for sharpening concentration and memory. Today, rosemary is also being studied in modern scientific studies regarding its potential effect on various cognitive functions, and there are already interesting results regarding its activity in the context of mathematical calculations!

Sage - This is one of the most well-known and useful local medicinal plants* and spices for thousands of years, especially in situations that require a stimulating, restorative, invigorating and tonic quality, and it is known in medical traditions and in various cultures as the “plant of memory and learning”. The general soothing quality of sage is also suitable for states of restlessness, when everyday worries affect the mood. According to traditional medicine, during the short flowering period of sage, the full energy and vitality of the plant are transferred to the flowers, whose quality provides a sense of protection and a gentle push towards processes of renewal and change.

Medicinal Lavender - Lavender has been used in Mediterranean and European medical traditions for centuries, and is mentioned in ancient medical texts, where it is attributed with qualities that support mainly mental and emotional aspects. Today, modern research has identified that the active components in the plant are the volatile oils, and their unique properties have been tested in clinical studies.

Bara Herbs was founded in 1997 by Sharon and Ryan Kotzer, Sharon is an expert in herbs and herbal medicine. After returning from studying at the leading herbal medicine school in England, a four-year course, Sharon and Ryan established a herbal therapy clinic in Kibbutz Ein HaShofet called “Bara Herbs.”
The essence of the name “Bara” is the root of the words “Bria” and “Bria.” This essence embodies both the message and the vision of Bara Herbs, according to which the use of medicinal plants, which are part of creation, supports and improves human health.
Since then, “Bara Tshering” has been developing high-quality products that excel in therapeutic creativity and are based on extensive clinical knowledge. The combination of clinical knowledge, high-quality raw materials, and advanced manufacturing technologies allows us to develop and produce a long line of products that all have one clear common denominator: they work!
